wanting to burn linux on a cd


I want to try linux on my decktop?

you can burn linux iso with the help of http://infrarecorder.org/

  • Download an ISO file of the Linux distro you want to try.
  • Burn it to CD or DVD. If you need a CD burning program, Imgburn is a good choice for windows.http://www.imgburn.com/ You can also burn a CD image to a flash drive. Unetbootin usually works for this. http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
  • Select your computer to boot from CD, or USB at boot time, and you should be able to boot from the CD or flash drive. Once it's loaded, there will be an option to install if you decide you like it.

If you're looking for an easy distro to try out first, I think Xubuntu is a good start.
