Viewing Running Processes

I know that in order to kill a process I must type "killall (process-name)".

Is there any way I can view the processes currently running?
Which is the command to kill the x server?

Thank you

You can use ps to see all running processes and their numbers. I find that ps -ax works pretty well for finding a specific process and killing it. Once you identify the process you wish to kill, just do kill <number> and you should be all set.
