[SOLVED] usb printer found, can't scan

hp deskjet 4200 all in one printer, auto-detected and installed, printed test page with no issues.

Tried to use 'AquireImages' and 'scanner tools' both say no devices detected. is there another driver i need to install?

Edit: printer is actually HP Deskjet F2480 - took for granted 4200 was correct cause it auto installed

Have you installed XSane? I have an F2180 and that's fine for scanning and printing.

xsane originally said "no devices found", however i did a search and found the correct driver and now its all good. System>preferences>default printer still says the wrong printer but as long as everything works its not really a big deal.
