Angry Uninstall Ubuntu?

This laptop came with UBUNTU and VISTA. I want to clear off the UBUNTU since it was set as the default. I have already completed a FORMAT C:,
which erased the VISTA. UBUNTU still works.
Is their a command in Terminal mode like FDISK so I can partition the Hard drive and reinstall VISTA?
The UBUNTU system will not allow me to reload a Microsoft system like XP or VISTA.

Thanks for any help.
Bob

The Vista install CD should come with a simple menu-based partition configuration, where you can erase all existing partitions and continue with installing Vista or XP (I know XP has this as part of its install).

Hi Bob,

If you boot from your Windows Installation CD, you can remove all existing partitions and use the entire disk for Windows.

PS: You really fly your own RV6? I'm jealous!

You'll need to use Windows FDISK. Remove all existing partitions, then create a primary partition using the entire disk and activate it.

Cheers

You need to insert the disk and reboot into it. XP or ME should show a menu.

The system will not allow any CD to be read.
I think it lost the CD driver.

I built a RV-6 and flew it for over 5 years and sold it so I could retire in 2001. The plane is now in upstate New York. It is white & green strips with a shamrock on it's tail.

Hi Bob,

You might try this: boot your machine and hit the right key(s) to get into the BIOS (usually "DEL" or "F2" or something like that, check your system docs to make sure). Find where you can set the "Boot Sequence" and make sure that the box will try to boot from the CD/DVD drive *before* it tries the hard drive. When you next reboot with the Windows disk in the CD/DVD you should be OK.

PS: I'll keep an eye out for an RV-6 with the shamrock. I live in northern Westchester.
