understanding linux code

how can i understand linux code.

is there any good book available online which explains linux code.

There isn't really any such thing as linux code.

The kernel is written in C, command level stuff is mostly bash (Bourne Again Shell).

If you google for either of those things, you'll get a flood of hits.
