umounted but still readable !


Hi,

On Debian, when I do umount /mnt/MyExternalUSBdrive, I'm still able to access it but in read only mode... It's a bit surprising.

Can I still disconnect it safely ?

Yup! should be OK. Just like Windows, when it doesn't quite do what it's supposed to and providing you're not accessing it, you can pull it. Go through the Unmount process as a matter of course though, don't just pull it every time as there's obviously a higher risk of data corruption.
