Trying to build custom ipw2200 kernel module

Hello,

I am trying to build a custom ipw2200 kernel module. Nothing too fancy, I just want some more debug information. I downloaded the source of 2.6.30.9-90 and edited the ipw2200.c file.

I created my .config file using make menuconfig to get the ipw2200.ko file to load, but it won't compile the file. The error I get is:

No rule to make target `drivers/net/wireless/ipw2x00/ipw2200.o` needed by drivers/net/wireless/ipw2x00.o' stop.

any ideas how to actually compile the c file to make a .o file?
