Troubleshooting Question

My RH8.0 linux box has been crashing lately. Is there some log file I can look at to see what the problem is? If there are more than one, where are they?

Try /var/log/messages

If it was X that crased then you could try the /var/log/XFree86.log

It was the entire computer in some regard. My linux box runs headless, and I just use it as a file server, DHCP server, and I check my email through it. That's about it. :/
