I'm currently using Linux Mandrake 7.1 with Apache Web Server 1.3 as the web server for my system. The sever runs fine I think when I type:[
http://localhost/file.htm] it is properly being displayed.
I tried creating a perl script that will display a simple message of SUCCESS I saved it on the cgi-bin directory under [/home/httpd] which I assume is the directory where I save all of my [PERL|CGI] scripts.
I also invoked the shebang: #!/usr/bin/perl or /!usr/bin/perl5.6.0 but the server is giving me a message saying [FORBIDDEN You don't have permission to access /cgi-bin/testing.pl on this server]. What gives? I already tried running PERL on other directories using consoles or terminals and its just working fine. I didn't made any configuration setting on theApache Web Server since I assume its already running since I saw a message on the console screenduring startup : starting httpd server. Also do I still need to log as the ROOT to be able to simulate a web site inside my system? Can anyone help me out? Any suggestions will be greatly appreacited you can reply to my post or e-mail me at
