Thumbs down Trouble closing X-Server. Please help me.

Hello, there... greetings.

I'm brazilian and I use the Conectiva Linux 10 Distribution, so I can't close the X-Server.

When I type Ctrl+Alt+Backspace I get a strange screen where I can see nothing, like a psychodelic screen, so I cannot read anything or see the console.

Thanks in advance,

Diego.

More information needed:
-Why are you using ctrl+alt+backsp? Why not use whatever your desktop environment's logout function is?
-What kind of graphics hardware are you using? Any special drivers installed?
