Question Tricky Xpeed SDSL Adapter on RedHat 7.2

I got this Xpeed X300 SDSL PCI Adapter that I’m tying to get to work with RedHat 7.2. The xpds drivers were included in kernel 2.2. But the instructions over at xpeed say that you still need their tools to compile the drivers in the kernel.
README
Ok, so what’s the difference between the other supported hardware and this kernel-included driver?
And to make the ting more confusing the packages you’re suppose to use (xpds-tools-version.tar.gz) is not released under kernel 2.4 just 2.2? ftp://ftp.xpeed.com/

What do I actually need to do to get this thing working?
.
