To connect to pppoe KDE wants me to insert installation download dvd into my cd rom?
I just installed linux today, im a first timer im using mandrake le2005
I got through most of it ok, im in KDE and i managed to figure out where to add what im assuming is the equivelent of a connectiod. All is fine, until It asks for a "Installation download dvd" and it asks me to insert it in my drive and press enter, I assume this is the "dvd" that i burned in order to install the OS. Its the only disc I have and I did not opt to copy all files to my harddrive, I tried sticking it in my dvdram and to no avail, it will just keep giving me the same message to insert it.
My question is, how do i tell KDE to either look at my dvd ram, or if i do not have the right files, or correct disc (the one i downloaded to burn to dvd is 2.04GB) how do i get the right files on a cdrom. Additionally in case i am running in the wrong direction, what other options do i have to resolve this as quick as possible.
I played around a bit, rebooted and tried to configure my network, I have adsl and im using a hub, in my experience the hub has never conflicted before, and i dont belive it is now. At one point it asks me to select my location or something to the effect for dsl, and it doesnt list either canada, usa, america
nothing remotely close, I have tried everything that makes any remote sense, and i am having 0 luck. If someone can walk me through connecting from scratch erasing any old profiles that might conflict, or whatever, using sympatico dsl service. With a hub that connects both computers at the same time without any difference in software *(usually use xp's built in pppoe)*
i'd be forever grateful, Im pretty confident, once i can connect ill be fine from there..
