tar error while installing TinyOS8051wg-0.1pre4.tgz

Hi,
I'm trying to install the file "TinyOS8051wg-0.1pre4.tgz" by giving the following command: tar zxfv ~TinyOS8051wg-0.1pre4.tgz

On execution I'm getting the following error:

tar: ~TinyOS8051wg-0.1pre4.tgz: Cannot open: No such file or directory
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

Please let me know the solution.

You don't need the "~" at the beginning of the file and you have to put as last option the "f" switch, so tar will know that it has to expect a filename, Thus the correct command is:
Code:
tar zxvf TinyOS8051wg-0.1pre4.tgz
