system restarts when booting SUsE


i got a little wierd problem.. i just installed suse so i can dual boot wiht winxp (only for gaming).. first time i booted suse i just got a black screen.. second time my computer restartet..

the version is 9.1 personal
Ati Radeon 9200 256 mb ram
2600 mhz celeron
512 mb ram

Not really a fan of personal. If I were you I'd switch to pro. Personal has been known for it's lack of packages. As far as the reboot... it could be anything. Ranging from a hardware driver to your XFree86 not being configured properly

Well get pro first and be careful when suse asks you to configure your hardware because installing the driver can completely hose your system. If you don't want to install pro just yet. You might be able to recover your system with the personal boot disk and going through the install and have it run the repair instead of full install. As far as getting pro. There are several options. You can download the entire contents by ftp. if you go to http://www.suse.com/us/private/download/suse_linux/. There's instructions there as to how to install it via ftp. Hope this helps

You can get the live eval versions but to my knowledge I don't know if those let you install all the package available by suse, if any.
