SuSE 9.0 Please Help!

Hi Guys,

I'm working on completely changing from XP to linux - right now I'm typing this from SuSE 9.0 that i installed via FTP. Overall this distribution is great and I love it lots but I have 3 key problems that are pretty much deal breakers for me and was hoping someone could help me out with it before i go crying back to windows:

Problem #1: Java.

I use hushmail alot and it requires Java to work - I've installed SuSE as I mentioned via FTP and have only installed programs via YaST, I can't get Java to work in Mozilla and its driving me nuts. I get the prompt to install the plugin and it fails - so i log into kde as root and install it, install says its fine but when i go back java still no work. Can someone tell me whats up?

Problem #2: Remote Destkop Feature

Was tickled pink when I saw this - but then I started playing with it and can't get it to work the way i want. With XP I could connect from work and use my desktop - I understand this is VNC but I can't get it to work via the webbrowser, it's just wierd and seems broken.

Problem #3: VPN Connection

Doesn't seem t obe anything in here thats going to help me get connected to my office - anyone have good suggestions?

Thanks
Kev

Hi and welcome to the Linux Generation.

1) The Moz site has java and plug in help, along with forums that might answer questions. You might try Konquerer or Opera, which can be D/L'd with java.

2) & 3) Try google. I wouldn't know.
