I downloaded all files from suse webiste approx 3/4 gig. Created a bootable CD which boots ok. When I goto installation option it asks for CD1. How do I install SUSE 8.1 from downloaded files sitting in windows XP machine.
This would be where you need to make your XP a NFS (Network file system) - if in fact that can even be done (I truly have no idea). SuSE don't want you to d/l and keep the isos like that... they want you to do an ftp install, or go buy the disks.
Did you download the iso images? If so you can burn them to cd. Check out linuxiso.org to find out how to burn the images. Burning iso's is a delicate thing.
