Hi,

I am super frustrated. I installed Suse 10.1 on this laptop everything goes smooth until the very very end when testing the graphics card. It phases to a white screen, and when I boot into it the first time it does the same thing. I have tried re-installing and changing to all different kinds of screen sizes and resolutions. There is no place to modify the graphics card settings. Also someone else posted a similar problem BUT THEY DID NOT POST THE FRIGGIN STEPS TO FIX IT. If that is one thing that drives me absolutely bonkers about the Linux community. POST THE DANG FIX, i AM bald at this point......i used have allot of hair.

This is not helping you, I am sure, but I've installed Suse 10.1 myself, on my lap top.

.....and I did not have any problems at all. Everything just worked.
I am too a newbie, and very unsure about a lot of things, so I just did what the screen told me to do.

I guess this website has so many Linux experts that this one is too tuff :P After researching and playing. I finally got to YAST in textmode and set the graphics mode to 800 X 600 since I know the laptop can handle that, card set at generic LCD. Then here is the key, as root, use the reboot coommand which atcually writes and applies the setting and, bam the next boot gnome came up with the login screen. After that I was able to change the settings to 24 bit color and 1024 x 768 and it looks awesome...
