Talking Step by step procedure to install hjsplit in ubuntu linux

I've used this program for years on Windows and would miss it if I could not use it with Ubuntu.

For people not knowing abt HjSplit here's a link that gives u a basic idea. Try it . Its an amazingly simple and useful software especially when u download movies from net and they are split in to many parts.

http://gamblis.com/2009/11/19/how-to...using-hjsplit/

It's just one of those programs that is tiny and just works.Using this software a big avi file can be splited in to many parts as well as many avi files can be fused in to one avi file.

2 things are required for successful installation in Ubuntu ....
A) Kylix Library.
B) Hjsplit installation.

Please note that a Kylix library needs to be installed on your computer before running HJSplit for Linux.

Downloading & Installing Kylix Library

Download Link : Kylix library

http://www.freebyte.com/linux/libraries/

**** The libraries needed to run Freebyte's software for Linux are contained inside kylixlibs3-borqt-3.0-2.tar.gz (2453 Kb)****

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/k...ar.gz?download

***Alternative download location
http://kylixlibs.sourceforge.net/down.html

**** After downloading the tar.gz file to desktop unpack it .

run "./install.sh" ( it will be there in the folder )
As soon as u press run two files will appear libborqt-6.9.0- qt2.3.so and libborqt-6.9-qt2.3.so

Go to COMPUTER >>> FILESYSTEM >>>> lib >>>> and paste libborqt-6.9.0-qt2.3.so and libborqt-6.9-qt2.3.so in the lib .

NB **** if u r not able to copy and paste in to the lib folder then u need to follow these steps .Am just giving the links.Plz follow the given instructions.http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=326596
CHECK #3 INFO.

Downloading & installing HJSplit

Download hjsplit from http://www.treepad.net/download/hjsplitlx.tar.gz

Unpack the tar.gz ARCHIVE FILE and open the HJSplitLX file (will be there in the newly unpacked folder).

And its done. Hjsplit will appear on ur screen . Here are the screen shots http://www.freebyte.com/img34/hjspli...lx_screen.html

Do give feedbacks if the explanation was helpful . Adios . I will be back.

Yes , I read so in many other posts the HjSolit works fine under wine. But there seems to be some problem in my comp. The hj split exe file is not able to connect to net to download the installation . Am Using Ubuntu 9.04.

So if any one else is facing such problem then follow the solution I have given. And if it istalls by wine then well n good .
