sound problem in redhat 9.0

I have a pc celeron D, intel 865 chipset and 256 mb of RAM.
when i installed redhat 9, there was no sound at all.
when i go for sound card detection, there was no sound card installed.
what's the problem?
And how can i fix it?????????

Given that RH9 is yrs out of date and unsupported eg no security updates (or any others) I strongly suggest you get a current distro eg RH Fedora 8 or Centos (the free version of RH Enterprise Linux), or any other distro you fancy eg Ubuntu.
Be aware that 256MB RAM is a little tight, so you'll prob want the 'custom install' option.
Or try Damn Small Linux or Puppy linux for minimal installs.
