i have my main internet connection on fedora i want to share it with windows and mandriva who are connected via lan cable directly to this computer help please
Are you using a cable or dsl modem to connect to the internet. If you are I would recommend that you get a router/hub if you are using a cable modem or dsl.
Isn't firestarter in your distros repository ? You didn't post what you are running, so I can't tell you how to install it..
You should update your profile to include you r current distro at the very least..
On debian (and debian derived distros like ubunto) it would simply be apt-get install firestarter Fedora woul be something like yum install firestarter In suse you would use YAST to install it, and on Mandria it would be something like urpmi -i firestarter
If you're using some sort of high speed connection(DSL, Cable) A router and ethernet cable would be pretty easy, not to mention you'd get the benefit of a hardware firewall.
