Server Hangs after Yum

Hello,

I have a Red Hat Enterprise 5 server. It has crashed/hung (pingable, but does not accept ssh logins) twice in the last few weeks at the time of day that it runs it's yum updates. In my root crontab I have /usr/bin/yum -y update run daily. Should I not be doing that? Is there a better way to get updates automatically? I'd rather not have to remember to run it once a week manually.

Try googling "configure centos cron weekly".
