Sendmail is not sending on my Linux ES 5 system. It is installed and accepts data input from the command line but when entering the period the mail is not sent.
I've probably missed something in the configuration. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Distribution: RHEL, CentOS, Debian, Oracle Solaris 10

How did you configure mail server? And if you think that the problem could be in configuration file then check your configuration file. Search on google, refer to some links.
