Segfault Trying to Open Device Drivers in Mint 17

Trying to open the "Device Drivers" program in a fresh Mint 17 install, the authentication pops up but after entering the password, it doesn't open the drivers program.

Segfault shows in dmesg as:

Code:
[ 3787.749571] mintDrivers.py[3431]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f01754b74b7 sp 00007fff618a8ff8 error 4 in libgtk-3.so.0.1000.8[7f01753a2000+500000]
Any ideas?

Edit:

Also just noticed that Software Manager exhibits the same behavior, but without the segfault appearing in dmesg. Authentication pops up but the application never appears. Da Fuck?

Also, md5sum check on installation media found all checksums matched.

~ $ inxi -Fxz

I was getting strange segfaults all related to Gtk on my previous installation of Mint. Couldn't figure it out, hence this fresh install.

Could this be a RAM/HDD or other hardware failure?

This is strange.

Tried opening the Device Drivers application again and this time it opens OK, after ~15 second wait. No segfault. Hrrm..
