Question scroll mounse problem

Hi !!

I use RH 8 I am trying to configure my scroll mouse to work

I open XF86 config:

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse0"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "PS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "no"
EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
# If the normal CorePointer mouse is not a USB mouse then
# this input device can be used in AlwaysCore mode to let you
# also use USB mice at the same time.
Identifier "DevInputMice"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "no"
EndSection

I see that Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" is uncommand so ehy isnt it working ?

thanks

Hello,

What kind of mouse is it?

I find that if I'm using a USB optical wheel mouse (like my Logitech), I have to use "IMPS/2" and also the ZAxisMapping "4 5".

By the way, is this on a laptop?

Peace,
Whitehat

Well it appears that you have 2 mice setup. Do you infact have 2 mice hooked up to your PC? Like I said, is it a laptop?

Did you uncomment any of those lines?

Oh, yep missed that. You got to Input Sections. You only need one. Comment out the bottom one and try the mouse again.

mouse problems

How do you do all that without a mouse? I boot up fine and my mouse is not working. I switch mices and none of them work. I've messed with my xf86config all night and finally got my looping xserver up but now, no mouse. How do I get into that file to configure it, rh 10.??? vi something?
Thanks!
