Screen brightness for Lenovo IBM T43 Linux Mint

This seems to be a question that goes on and on but I have never found one that relates specifically to the Lenovo IBM T 43 so here goes.

My screen brightness control used to be a joy of simplicity and ease by the use of Fn + Home / End. Now although some of the Fn functions work e.g. Fn + F2 for suspend the screen brightness is no longer functioning.

Has anyone a solution that might be understandable for a 5 day old newbie who all his previous computer life has used the WINXP

Thanks for any replies

Since you want T43 specific info

http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:T43

Check all the links there and read. On my IBM T23. The overhead screen led lights my keyboard and if I was you.I would experiment with/press the Fn key + plus the lightbub key symbol on your keyboard plus also Fn + maybe arrow up and down or page up and page down.

All hotkeys work on my T23 in AntiX.

Thanks for replying.

Checked out all the links and suggestions but haven't found anything that works for changing screen brightness.

Fn + PgUp (overhead light) works

Have started to read up on Linux Basics!

Just another thing I use to control screen brightness. I can't help you though as I had to experiment myself in unknown territory.

Fn or the Windows Logo key plus lots of pressing buttons finally helped me find the Brightness Hotkeys in my AntiX installs on my IBM T23 and IBM A22M. My wife sitting in my lap while I did this experiment, made this fun also.

Poke and Hope works for me sometimes.

I see, shame I haven't at this moment got a wife or I might have solved my problems and become a senior member!

Thanks for the link, but as it's all in double dutch and I'm a Brit I couldn't understand it!
