Saving History

I am learning linux using Fedora and I would like to save my history so I can go back and reference it. I tried this command:

history >> history.txt

Error:

history.txt: Permission denied

I am thinking that root has the permission to this but is there any easy way to save my history?

which user's history are you trying to save and as which user?

Looks like you don't have permissions to write history.txt file where you are trying to write it.

Tux,

I am logged in as myself and the history file relates to me. I thought that I would have the right permissions on it since it is my history.
