Samba limits?
I am testing out using Debian as a server environment (in Virtual Machines). I am learning SSH and all that mess + full command line usage. I had read awhile back somewhere something random in a forum where they were talking about limits to file size transfers with samba?
"Samba will choke on anything over 800 megs, I'm surprised you got it to go 2gb" or something like that was said. What are the limits of samba?
In the near future I will be building myself a file server and am looking for a good way to stream directly from it Debian server <> Debian Stable PC. Have 150gb worth of movies, 5gb of music (not much by some standards). Will I encounter trouble trying to move it all over to the server via samba or will I need to FTP it over there?
