Run FCE Ultra

Okay, I'm certain that this is a preschool level question, but I've been so Windows brainwashed, it's evading me. I've downloaded and extracted the tar file, and successfully ran ./configure

Now what?

I understand how game console emulators work, it's the command to run the program I can't figure.

Thanks guys.

Inside the tarball there is a file telling you how to install.
Provided the stuff you need is all there, the usual steps are:

./configure (done)
make
make install

The command to run the program is usually the program name - but not always (had fun working out how to run ultima 4 - u4 - for eg.) The command is usually mentioned very beriefly at the end of the install instructions and/or in the other documentation.

If the program includes help file(s), then "apropos <program name>" will tell you what is available. "man filename" will let you read the help file.

That said: FCE-Ultra is a Nintendo/Famicon emulator. Major distros normally have emulators for these platforms in their repositories so you don't need to compile from source.

Please edit your profile to include location and distro information. Thatnk you.

In ubuntu type 'sudo apt-get install fceu'. Then to run the command 'fceu' to see the options. The command for fedora is something like 'sudo yum install fecu', I think, my fedora commands are a little rusty. On ubuntu it's under applications > games > gfce ultra.
