rpm installation


i m unable to install any of the rpm though i logging in as a root only...it display the following message
failed to install
you don't have the necessary privileges to install local packages

this is really problematic...pls provide me wid a sol as soon as possible

How are you trying to install them?

It would also be helpful to know what distribution you're using.

i m using fedora core 9... for installin...i tried using yum...rpm and also double clickin on packages...none of dem actually worked...d msg it displays is wt i hve posted in my first post.....dis msg arises wen i install usin double click on package

OMG, and now it has started eatin all yer lettrs

Have you tried rpm -ivh ?
