phone set to USB, cable connected, open file manager and click Devices and Orange USB SCSI CD-Rom: Error message: The specified directory 'computer.///Orange%2OUSB%2OSI%2OCD-ROM-drive' is not valid
If that is an android phone, then you will need to mount it as an mtp device. Set your phone to be an mtp device, then look at your distributions docs on how to mount mtp devices, and what software needs to be installed on the linux box.
i suppose you mean "Orange": https://www.gsmarena.com/orange_rio_ii-4084.php
from 2011, doesn't even say if it's android.
if you connect it via USB, it should show up as simple usb storage.
if it doesn't, check the cable and the connector.
if it still doesn't:
- open a terminal, enter 'dmesg -w'
- plug in the phone
- show us the output that appeared AFTER plugging it in
i don't see anything.
please copy-paste text instead of posting screenshots.
please make sure you show us only the part that appeared AFTER plugging in the phone.

If you can connect to the internet via a WiFi router, I'd download "WiFi File Transfer Pro" to the phone (Reasonably priced!), start the app then point your browser at something like 192.168.0.X:1234 where X is the IP address of your phone as attached to your WiFi router.
The app runs a file server on your phone allowing you to upload and download files to and from the phone via a web page. Loads easier than having to look for a USB cable! The App will specify the target address.
^ did you even look at the gsmarena link? it clearly states NO wifi capabilities. we don't even know if this is an android phone.

[ 1713.607982] usb 1-1: USB disconnect, device number 10
it looks pretty straightforward to my layman's eyes:
the device should be accesible as /dev/sr1 (a CD-ROM for some reason, so read only).
can you see that in your filemanager?
if not, try this:
Code:
cd;mkdir rioll;sudo mount /dev/sr1 rioll;cd rioll;ls
and there's no additional SD card in the phone, just the internal memory?
what is the very last line (usb ... disconnect)?
did you unplug it again?
if not, it could mean a faulty connection or that the OS decided to reject the device for unknown reasons.

What can I say, No I didn't Had "Doesn't have WiFi" been mentioned within the main thread I wouldn't have posted. These days you expect phones to have Wlan capabilities, I didn't realise it was that old. Apologies.
I can connect this phone to windows 10 using a USB cable view and exchange files, no problem. But cannot connect to LXLE desktop. the phone appears in my desktop file manager but when I try to open it I get the error message shown in my original post.
I did look at the gsmarena link, and it appears to be the phone shown. no WIFI, but I don't want to use WIFI. I have no idea if it is an Android phone- I think probably not. as to response to dmesg -w, neither the phone nor micro memory card I have in it can be CDROM I should say as I can transfer files in both directions to windows10 using USB connection.
