.raw audio files

I tried concatenating two .raw audio files by converting them to .wav format using sox command( sox -r 441000 -s -w recording.raw recording1.wav)
.But I got error
(sox: invalid option -- w
sox: SoX v14.3.2
sox FAIL sox: invalid option)
please tell me how to convert .sox file to .wav file?

Might start off and see if man page is available. man sox http://linux.die.net/man/1/sox

sox -t auto -w -s -r 8000 -c 1 {input_file} {output_file}

An example of where -w might be used.

$ sox -b input.wav -w output.wav
