saving raw files

hello,
i am using mandriva to store, edit and generally mess about with digital photo`s as mandriva is very stable and wont crash and lose my photo`s(unlike win xp, lucky i backed up to dvd lol).
However, i am about to change the format that i save my (canon 300d) images to raw and cant find a way to save these images from my camera to the hard drive....any idea`s please ?

I don't know anything about your camera, but mine is simply mounted and I just copy files with Midnight Commander (commandline = mc). It dosen't care what kind of files they are. I don't know how your camera attaches, if it is mounted to a dirpath, you chould be able to directly copy as well.
