quick q about kernel recompile
well, it all started when i wanted to get my ATI fglrx drivers installed.... many people seem to support the idea that recompiling the kernel with **** helps out getting the drivers working.
But, the question:
I have downloaded the src (2.4.26) that i want and did a make xconfig. That seemed okay. i saved that configuation as 2.4.26-newer or something like that . before that I moved my old "/usr/src/linux-2.4.26" to "linux-2.4.26-old" first.
now, i run make dep and it doesnt take long (<1 sec) and there is some errors and i know errors are bad at this stage.... I am looking for some help as to what this means:
================
root@darkstar:/usr/src/linux-2.4.26# make dep
