Unhappy Probs with installing suse 9.0

ok here is the deal. I have been trying to install suse 9.0 for the last little bit and I am having a major prob. that I can not seem to get around. first off let me give you a brief desc of my system. AMD 1.2 athlon, Motherboard Abit KT7(A)/KT7(A)-RAID/KT7E, 768 pc133 ram, 40 gig hd

anyway, the prob I am having is that my comp will not let me boot from my cd. I have went into my bios and set it to boot from my cd first thing but still nothing. when I put a cd in to boot from it just skips it and goes on to my floppy then to the HD. what in the world is going on here?!?!!?!?!?!?!? Any one have any ideas? Also, what about a boot disk on a floppy? I can not seem to find one anywhere, and when I do find one it says that it is brand specific.

I would love any help on this because I am really wanting to learn more about Linux. So please give me all the help you can. This newbie needs it!

There are iso images of boot flopppies in suse's install cd's. You can either write them to floppies using win or linux.
The images are called modules1, modules2, etc...modules5 and are located at the first suse 9.0 cd, under /boot
To write them to floppies in win you can use the rawrite.exe utilty under /dosutils.
Post again if you get stuck.
