Exclamation Problems installing Mandrake9.1 and RH9

Hi, i've downloaded and installed Mandrake 9.1 on my computer, then i changed to Red Hat 9 and everything was OK. I uninstalled RH, now i need Linux again but i canīt install it because of this errors:

Uncompressing Linux...

crc error

- - System halted

This error appears in Mandrake and Red Hat

Sometimes RH gets a little bit far on the instalation, but another error appears:

vfs:cannot open root device ""or 48:05
please append a correct"root=" boot option
kernel panic: vfs :unable to mount root fs on 48:05

I think my installation cd's are ok, because i installed Mandrake and RH the first time from the same cd's and i didnīt have any problem, but now i canīt install linux on my system.

What else could be the problem??

Thanks

possible answer

This following link shows a possilbe answer to your problem.
I had that trouble as well, but that appeared after the installation
is complete using Mandrake 9.1

It had either something to do with the memory being bad,
packages installed had some errors, or even the partition of the
hard drive was done incorrectly. I found out that when installing
Mandrake 9.1, the partition must be unallocated space.
The link below shows the computer I worked on with unallocated
space.
