Problem withe the wireless setup.

I had a good WLAN connection after I installed Ubuntu 9.
2 Days later that connection was disabled. What could have gone wrong. My notebook (HP) is less than 2 years old. I have a Belkin router. I als have a Computer with WIN 7 OS that uses the same Belking Router with no problem.

Ubuntu 9 is definately outdated & unsupported right now it's at 12.04 so you should consider getting a supported version.

If it was working before and got disabled by itself, right click on the network icon and see if networking is enabled.

For one or other reason I got my wireless connection working again. I am not even sire what I did to make it to work. Thanks for the suggestions. And of course, I already ordered Ubuntu 12 on CD. Thanks again.

Ubuntu 12.04 has been really unstable in my desktop and I heard from other people experiences similar result. So be aware of it, 10.04 has another year of support and it was rock solid for me, perhaps a mistake in my part to get really excited and upgraded my installation.

The problem I am facing is constant freezes no mouse no keyboard. I have to reboot 3 or 4 time per session, no fun at all.

I have been an Ubuntu fanboy since 8.04 and now I am considering just to ditch it and find a different distro.

Good luck to you!
