problem with linux pam-radius

Hi Group,

I installed linux pam radius for RADIUS authentication on my 2.6 linux m/c and it is working fine.
When I tried to configure the same on the my 2.4 linux m/c, severe problem occured. Am not able to login at all to my 2.4 linux.

After booting into linux 2.4, login GUI is asking for username. Soon I give username, control is going to command line login prompt. Command line login prompt is only reading username and not prompting for password at all. After giving username, 3 times it is behaving like that and again control goes to GUI login prompt.

1) pam modues: pam_radius_auth.so version 1.3.17
2) Linux: 2.4 and 2.6
3) Dual boot with Xp and 2.4 linux

Did use ext2fs tool to access the linux 2.4 from windows and modified /etc/pam.d/system-auth file and removed pam radius auth line.
Still the problem persists.

Should appreciate any suggestions/pointers on this, ASAP.

Thanks,
Sri.

well what does the /var/log/secure and /var/log/messages say about it? What does the log for the radius server say about it? What are the configs you currently have?

Are you locked out of that machine? If so, reboot, edit the boot line and add a "1" which will put you stright in to runelvel 1 as root, bypassing all authentication mechanisms.
