i got fedora 7 installed along wit windowsXP .
wen i boot linux the system hangs soon after it finishes booting
(i.e just before it asks for the user login).
so i had to startup manually giving "NO" to the following
syslog
irqbalance
mctrans
rpcbind
settroubleshoot
nfslock
when i give "no" to the above it works perfectly.

How to avoid manual startup everytime??

My usb modem is not detected while the external hard drive is detected.
wen i go into netwok config for modem config it displays "no modem is found"
while it works perfectly in windows..
Y is it so? wat do i need to do?

First we are going to need some system specs and a make/model would be nice. We also need to know the make and model of the modem to give good information.
