Did you install the printers using the KDE print manager ? If so, then try deleting them and running cups and install them that way instead - as thats what the kde part is doing anyway!
Oh and to access cups directly, try
http://localhost:631 or find out what your localhost IP address is (usually 127.0.0.1) and try that - you'll know when you have access - and log in as "root" and supply the root password.
That usually works for me.
