I am assuming this tells me I have the package?
nan@nan-thinkcentre-m90z:~$ sudo apt-get install cups-filters-core-drivers
[sudo] password for nan:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
cups-filters-core-drivers is already the newest version (1.20.2-0ubuntu3.1).
I installed cups-filters.
I still cannot print from libre office -- cannot start your printer
Also now I can get to localhost:610 but everything on the menu gives not found
this is since adding cups-filters
reinstalled cups and that got fixed
after taking care of missing rastertospl I am printing!
Thank you for all the help. This was a long and winding road.

Glad to read of you success here. Something was wrong with your cups environment, but reinstalling cups has fixed it which is a good result. Now back away slowly.
