print user list, showing a locked user account??

fairly new to linux os, so im not even sure if this is possible, but is there a way to print a user on the screen, where it would be possible to verify that user's account is locked?

if needed for say some sort of audit request..

any help would be great!

Not Dumb! You figured it out for yourself and thats not dumb
Now theat you have the password Status trick )Thanks for Sharing)
You could
Code:
$ sudo passwd -S -a > NHPasswords
Then edit the NHPasswords file to eliminate all human passwords
Then I think you can do:
Code:
$ sudo passwd -S -a > passwords.tmp
Then it seems like you should be able to do something like:
Code:
$ diff NHPasswords passwords.tmp
To see the status of all humans Locked, unlocked or no password.

Or some variation thereof :-)
