PA-RISC and linux

Given that I am still very new to linux, I have an old
HP Visualize B2000 that I would like to load with linux.

It seems there are few choices that work with PA-RISC and
I was curious if anyone has had much success with these machines.

I have installed Debian on it but cannot get a desktop to run and
after more reading, I have found out that it won't.

Is there another distro that may work better?
Am I wasting my time with this machine?
Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated.

try here. Looked to be very promising. Though it does use Debian. [url]http://www.parisc-linux.org/[/url[

Thank you for the link
that is what I have on it now
I'll just keep playing with it until I get more comfortable
with something that I can't just point & click.

Thanks again
Cheers

What desktop are you trying to load? What errors are you getting? Try using something like fluxbox or xfce if you aren't already.

Thanks for the tips
This machine is one of those "when I'm bored"
projects and for now it's sitting in the corner.
I will certainly try it again some day and let
you know how I make out.

Thanks again for the help
