Talking linux os supporting risc architecture

Not really a noob, but kind of a noob subject. Need operating system for desktop computer with a RISC arch processor. Any suggestions?

Yes, go to and search for SPARC. Yours is SPARC, right?

Older PowerPC Macintosh computers also qualify as RISC processors, as far as I know. So it could be some iMac as well.

NetBSD supports a wide range of common and rare hardware, but for SPARC and PowerPC architectures you will certainly find some Linux flavour.
