I am not having internet connection in my computer. I am using FC6. I am unable to install utilities (like xmms) from rpm file since I dont have internet connection. Is there any way I can do away with the online check?
You could download the rpms elsewhere, copy them to your linux box and install them with the rpm tool
I downloaded rpms from my friends pc and when I try to install, it checks online.
I dont understand what you meant by "linux box". Did you mean it as "somewhere in linux partition" or some specific path. If it is some specific location please tell me where should I copy the rpm files.
My procedure for installing rpms - copy it into a certain directory, cd into that directory, then use command "rpm -Uvh 'rpmname' ". Doesn't require an internet connection for me, but I'm no expert.
