No, I am not being funny. I am trying to get a computer going that was given to me. It has Linux Mandrake installed on it but when it's loading it goes to "turd login". I don't know what that is...and can I get past that somehow so it can load up completely?

Actually having read your post again, can you get the login details from the person who gave you the PC? If not, you may be better off reinstalling from scratch to ensure that you are fully aware of what is on your PC.
