Smile No wifi or drivers after installing zorin os 9 on dell inspiron 1525

So I installed Zorin OS 9 as I heard its pretty good. Only to find that after I installed it I only have wierd internet there is no wifi. It is currently updating now (4/1/15 at 13:30) however I installed it before and while updating it seem to crash. I mean it brings up an error message about a problem it found and then the whole system seems to be skipping between the look changer and between zorin an ubunto. I had to reinstall it all over again.
I am open to any valid suggestions as having my modem next to my laptop seems so retro and why have wifi and cant use it right???...
I am somewhat new to linux tried it before but had trouble installing windows in a shell to use while having linux as my main OS. (would appreciate any advice I can get on that as well).

However for now... How do I get my WIFI up an running for my dell inspiron 1525 on the distro zorin os 9 core?

I am trying a few things myself... just hope it does not crash again..

Ok so I tinkered with Zorin some more and I finally found it so if you have the problem this is what you do to solve it
1. Go to Applications then scroll to
2. System tools, Go across to
3. Administrator
4. Open 'Software & Updates'
5. Sub menu to the right labeled 'Additional Drivers'
6. Change the option from 'Do not use the divice' to the top option

Your wifi should work just right

Similar issue but resolution does not work

I have the same issue with wireless but when I change the additional driver for the wireless from "do not use" to "use" and select the apply option it just reverts back to "do not use". Does anyone have more advice?

tmmoore800, you might want to start a separate thread for your issue, as it is a separate problem (though the symptoms may seem similar), rather than resurrecting a thread that's over a year old.

There's a lot of useful information, such as distro/version, wireless chipset, computer/make and model that could be supplied to make it easier for others to help you. You may want to take a look at this: http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/...Ask_a_Question
