no GUI...Red Hat 9

ok, i just installed redhat 9, and it automatically detected my video card, AND monitor correctly...i have a ATI Rage 128 video card, and a NEC CS500 monitor. I guess it started uo at runlevel 5, so when I start it up, it loads everything, and then the monitor recieves no signal. I then start in runlevel 3 through GRUB, and try typing redhat-config-xfree86 or somethingl like that, and the monitor received no signal AGAIN. I am very frusturated, and would like to reconfigure my gfx configration, but i cant, any help? I dont know anything...

Sound like you are going over the limits of something, either your Monitor resolution or Refresh rate. When you login in text mode, try to manually edit the file XF86Config (some distributions may use XF86Config-4 instead) manually. That file is found at /etc/X11.

Most likely, you will want to play with the values located at Graphics device section and Monitor section.

Good luck!
