NFS issues between ES 3.0 and Solaris 8

I am trying to do the following -

mount 192.168.0.1:/export/data /data

and I get the following error-

NFS getattr failed for server 192.168.0.1: error 9 (RPC: Program/version mismatch)
nfs mount : mount: /data: I/O error

The exported drive is on ES 3.0 and the machine I am trying to do the mount on is a Solaris 8 box. Is the mismatch with NFS or Linux/Solaris? I am confuzzed

Either way will work ;)

One may have nfs 4, the other 2 ... find out which uses
what and adjust the lower one up if possible.

Cheers,
Tink

I am making headway but still am having an issue with permissions.

I have shared the directory in my exports file and the share works well with my other RH boxes. On my Solaris client however I can cd to the directory right above my shared destination but when I try to access the target directory I get permission denied. Permissions are set to rw for all but I can't even access it as root. I have NIS running so it doesn't seem to be a problem of not having the correct logon credentials....
