Question Network with Windows 2000

Me and my friends are planning to setup our own mini network of 3/4 computers. My computer runs Red Hat 9 and will be the server. But the client OS are win 98/win 2K/win Xp.
I heard Samba doesn't support win 2k or XP. SO what server am i to install. I want a Network and File Server. Plus what clients will be needed ???
If u could tell me the method of least tewaking on server or client side it would be very useful.

samba does in fact support windows 2k and xp. you'll need to read this documentation for samba configuration.

there are several links there to clear instructions on setting up a samba server. as always we're all here to help if you have troubles. i'd also reccomend these sites for some basic networking fundamentals.

hope that helps.
good luck.
