network to epson sanner on windows box

I have an Epson 1640su scanner successfully connected to my Suse 10.2 Linux box and would like to now connect the same scanner to a Windows XP box and access it via network from the Linux box.

I've already successfully configured access from Linux to a printer connected to the Windows box so there is a working network connection between the boxes. It's via ethernet through a Linksys router.

I'm just not sure how to configure the scanner, assuming that is possible.

Keep it simple, please. A month ago I couldn't even spell linxu or netwurk.

I think you are using Samba to use the Windows shared printer.
In my opinion you cannot do the same with a scanner.

Thanks for the reply, olaola.

Correct about Samba for the printer and the scanner works with xsane when plugged into the Linux box. If there is no way to make the scanner work over a network, I can still alternate usb plug between boxes.
